Belt pulley wear causes excessive vibration; the Zhongyun platform provides precise localization and efficient repair.
Release time:2026-04-10
In food manufacturing enterprises, air-conditioning fans are critical auxiliary equipment for maintaining the desired temperature and humidity conditions in production workshops. Recently, at a well-known food fermentation company, an air-conditioning fan in the sauce-processing workshop exhibited severe wear on its pulley, with vibration velocities exceeding 20 mm/s at their peak. Leveraging its intelligent operations-and-maintenance platform, Zhongyun Technology conducted continuous monitoring and precise analysis to identify the worn component, guided the enterprise in replacing the pulley, and promptly reduced the vibration levels to below 5 mm/s, thereby ensuring stable workshop environmental conditions.
I. Vibration consistently exceeds the limit; the platform provides end-to-end monitoring.
From January to March 2026, the platform monitored continuous peak vertical vibration velocities exceeding 20 mm/s at the motor drive end of this wind turbine, far surpassing the safety threshold and triggering a system alert. The system simultaneously issued a diagnostic conclusion of “imbalance or foundation loosening” and fully transmitted the equipment information, measurement point locations, exceedance data, and corresponding time stamps to the operations and maintenance team, ensuring that potential hazards remain under continuous monitoring.

II. Intelligent Diagnosis Accurately Identifies the Fault Location
Upon receiving the alarm, the diagnostic team analyzed the equipment’s rotational speed and vibration characteristics and determined that the vibration was primarily caused by rotor imbalance. Based on the air-conditioning fan’s design, they identified the belt pulley or the connection points as potential sources of the issue and recommended that the facility promptly shut down the equipment for inspection.
III. On-Site Verification and Efficient Repair
Based on the platform’s recommendation, the enterprise scheduled a shutdown for inspection on January 13. On-site inspection revealed severe wear on the pulley supporting the fan rotor shaft, which was the direct cause of the severe imbalance. The diagnostic conclusion was highly consistent with the actual conditions.
On March 18, operations and maintenance personnel replaced the worn pulleys and adjusted the equipment alignment. Following the equipment restart that day, platform monitoring showed a significant reduction in vibration velocity, stabilizing below 5 mm/s, and the equipment resumed smooth operation.
Core Value: Providing Reliable Assurance for Food Manufacturing Environments
The successful resolution of the wind turbine pulley failure this time underscores the unique value of Zhongyun Technology’s intelligent O&M platform in supporting equipment management within the food manufacturing sector:
- Full Coverage: Monitoring extends across all core and auxiliary equipment, eliminating blind spots and ensuring every critical piece of equipment is safeguarded.
- Early intervention: Continuously monitor systems before failures escalate, pinpoint the root cause, and leverage available production windows for precise remediation.
- Precision Diagnostics: Replace subjective judgment with data-driven analysis to accurately pinpoint fault locations, thereby improving repair success rates and efficiency.
Zhongyun Technology will continuously iterate its AI diagnostic algorithms and sensor technologies to deliver end-to-end intelligent operations and maintenance solutions that provide “precise early warning, efficient response, and robust reliability” for industrial enterprises, thereby supporting the digital transformation of equipment management and the intelligent optimization of O&M decision-making across industries.
