In food manufacturing enterprises, air-conditioning fans are critical auxiliary equipment for maintaining optimal temperature and humidity conditions in production workshops. Recently, an air-conditioning fan in the sauce-processing workshop of a well-known food fermentation company experienced severe blade fouling over long-term operation, resulting in vibration velocities as high as 15.09 mm/s—far exceeding the safety threshold. II. Diagnosis: Rotor Mass Imbalance
Upon receiving the alarm, the diagnostic team analyzed the equipment’s rotational speed and vibration characteristics and determined that the vibration was primarily caused by rotor imbalance. Given the workshop’s high-dust and high-humidity operating conditions, the fan impeller was found to be exhibiting abnormal behavior. It is therefore recommended that the equipment be promptly shut down for a thorough inspection of the impeller to identify and address the anomaly.
III. On-site Cleaning Validation: Rapid Damping of Vibration
Based on the platform’s recommendations, the enterprise scheduled a shutdown for inspection on April 6 and confirmed that the wind turbine rotor blades were heavily contaminated with production materials, which was highly consistent with the diagnostic findings. Maintenance personnel then disassembled and cleaned the rotor blades. Following the equipment restart on April 7, platform monitoring showed a significant reduction in vibration velocity to the normal range of 5–6 mm/s, the peak value of the second-order rotational frequency in the spectrum disappeared, and equipment operation returned to stable conditions.
